The AP9620 is a protocol-translation SmartSlot card that restores UPS-Link protocol serial communication to current-generation APC Smart-UPS hardware. Earlier APC UPS models communicated via the proprietary UPS-Link protocol; newer hardware standardized on Modbus and other modern protocols. For environments running custom scripts, legacy monitoring tools, or older third-party applications that expect UPS-Link communication, the AP9620 provides a clean path forward.
