The AP5822 is the 10-foot (3m) variant of APC's integrated KVM USB cable. Compared to the 6ft AP5821, the additional cable length accommodates servers in adjacent racks, racks with the console at the bottom and servers higher up, or environments with cable management requirements that prevent short cable runs.
When 10ft Is the Right Length
The 6ft AP5821 fits same-rack short runs; the 17ft AP5823 fits long runs and cross-room scenarios. The 10ft AP5822 fits the most common case: adjacent-rack server connections, longer same-rack runs with cable management overhead, and small server rooms where the console serves a 2-rack cluster.
